Hispanics Living with Sickle Cell Disease “Telling My Story”

Virtual Event: Celebrate and Honor Hispanic Heritage Month

Challenges and potential solutions for providing high-quality Sickle cell care. Presented by Andrew Campbell, MD, Director of the Children’s National Comprehensive Sickle Cell Disease Program.

Sickle cell disease is a genetic condition that affects the body’s red blood cells.  While this disease is most common among African Americans, it is prevalent among hispanic populations. Other racial ethnic groups are also affected.

Join Children’s National’s Sickle Cell Disease Program Director and HHS Office of Minority Health Stakeholder Engagement representatives CAPT David Wong, MD and Marlene Peters-Lawrence, BSN, RN for a virtual discussion.  Learn about the challenges, opportunities, and potential solutions for providing high-quality care in the community.

For security reasons, this program session will be locked 10 minutes after it begins. Please log in promptly.
