Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Lesser Known Musicals

Rodgers and Hammerstein were at the top of the heap in the 1940’s and 50’s musical theater world, creating an impressive list of enduring masterworks:  Oklahoma, Carousel, South Pacific, The King & I and The Sound of Music.  But what about the shows that didn’t make that list? Interspersed with these great shows, R&H created some far less successful productions. Of course, not every show can be a hit, but what happened?
